К счастью, в 1962 году Нобелевский комитет не оставил без внимания этот отчет Уилкинса и его коллег, а также дальнейшие выдающиеся достижения Уилкинса. А сэр Аарон Клуг не оставил без внимания вклад Франклин; в начале своей Нобелевской речи в 1982 году он сказал: «Если бы ее жизнь не оборвалась так трагически рано, она обязательно получила бы эту премию».
