В одном маленьком английском городке жил — был юноша, которого звали Боб-лентяй. Он жил со своей мамой в маленьком домике с протекающей крышей, которую некому было починить. Мать Боба работала с утра и до ночи, чтобы купить еду и оплатить счета; а Боб все дни и ночи проводил в своём кресле перед компьютером. Боб никогда не выходил из дома, потому что ему совершенно незачем было это делать: целыми днями он играл в компьютерные игры и смотрел видео, а если хотел есть- заказывал по интернету пиццу, расплачиваясь деньгами с электронной банковской карты своей матери.

Но однажды мама Боба-лентяя настолько устала работать и содержать великовозрастного сына, что отняла у него свою кредитную карту и не стала оплачивать интернет.

— Уходи куда хочешь и живи сам, или найди, наконец, себе работу! — сказала Бобу мать. А после этих слов ещё и включила родительский контроль на телефоне Боба, чтобы уж точно быть уверенной, что он не будет играть в игры, когда покинет дом.

Боб-лентяй был очень опечален таким поворотом дел; однако видя, как решительно настроена мать, на следующий день утром отправился на поиски работы.

Работа, которую нашёл себе Бобби, показалась ему несложной. Его взяли уборщиком в магазин. Ему выдали ведро и швабру и велели вымыть пол. Но ленивый Боб никогда не видел раньше ведра и не держал в руках швабры. В компьютерном мире, в котором он жил до сих пор, все предметы начинали действовать, стоило только нажать на них. Весь день юноша осматривал ведро и швабру и нажимал на них с разных сторон, но ничего не происходило. Вечером хозяйка магазина уволила Боба. Расстроенный вернулся он домой и рассказал обо всем матери.

— Какой же ты бестолковый! — воскликнула мать, — в ведро нужно было налить воду, опустить в воду швабру, намочить её хорошенько, а потом тереть ею пол!

— Я понял, — ответил Боб, — теперь я знаю, как нужно работать и в следующий раз не попаду впросак.

На следующий день Боб-лентяй вновь отправился искать работу. Ему очень повезло, и его взяли в ресторан быстрого питания Five Guys. Требовалось мыть тарелки. Что ж, он уже знал, что значит "мыть". Боб взял ведро, сложил в него тарелки, залил водой, и только сунул в него швабру, чтобы как следует помыть ей посуду, как был уволен.

— Мама! Меня выгнали снова, ещё быстрее, чем вчера, и хозяин обзывал меня дураком, а я ведь сделал так, как ты меня учила! — жаловался ленивый Боб вечером своей матери.

— Нужно было набрать воду в раковину, сложить в неё посуду, взять губку, фейри и тереть хорошенько! — сказала мать.

На третий день ленивый Боб снова вышел на поиски работы. Но в маленьком английском городке был всего один магазин и всего один Five Guys. Что было делать?.. Но тут удача очередной раз улыбнулась юноше: знакомые его матери должны были уехать на весь день и не могли взять с собой ребёнка. И так Боб-лентяй стал бейби-ситтером. Сначала всё шло хорошо, потому что Ребёнок всё делал сам. Сам гулял в саду, сам валялся на земле, сам купался в лужах, сам рисовал дома на обоях и сам лепил пластилиновые картины на диване. Сам пил свой сок и угощал Бобби. Они пролили немного, но это было почти незаметно, потому что весь дом и так уже был в пятнах и потёках. Вечером, перед тем как отправиться спать, Ребёнок сказал Бобу: "Послушай, моя мама всегда моет меня перед сном. А сегодня, мне кажется, это особенно необходимо. "

"Окей! — обрадовался Боб, — мыть я умею, у меня уже есть опыт в этом деле".

В тот момент, когда Бобби уже начал вспенивать фейри на сидящем в раковине Ребёнке, вошли родители. Боб опять не заработал ни пенни…

Очень унылый и грустный вернулся юноша домой. Он рассказал матери об очередной своей неудаче. Ленивый Боб был до того опечален, что мать, видя его страдания, не стала выгонять его из дома. Напротив, она была рада и тому, что сын хотя бы попытался что-то сделать. И поскольку на самом деле мать очень любила Боба, чтобы его утешить она подключила ему интернет.

Боб-лентяй сел, как раньше, за свой компьютер, но первый раз в жизни не стал играть. Ему захотелось поделиться своими переживаниями с кем-то ещё, и он рассказал о том, как работал 3 дня, на You Tube. Он рассказал просто и без прикрас, но людям это было настолько смешно, что его видео набрало огромное количество лайков, им делились, его пересылали и так вдруг Боб стал знаменит. И вот тут он понял, что может зарабатывать деньги, записывая смешные ролики из жизни. Правда, для этого нужно регулярно выходить из дома, чтобы видеть эту самую жизнь.

Ленивый Боб стал популярным блогером. У него появилось множество фанатов. Среди его поклонников оказался даже сам Английский Принц, и возможно когда-нибудь Боб-лентяй будет приглашён ко двору и станет называться Сэром Блогером. А пока он научился работать и зарабатывать. Правда, он так и не смог своими руками починить протекающую крышу в доме матери. Но он нанял людей, которые сделали это.

The Lazy Bob

Once upon a time in one little English town there lived a young man called the Lazy Bob. He lived in a small house with a leaking roof that nobody could mend. He lived with his mother who worked and worked from morning till late night in order to buy food and pay the bills. Bob did not work. He played and played computer games sitting in his armchair, spending his days and nights in front of his computer. Bob had never left his place. He did not even know what he needed to do that for. He had been playing computer games the whole day and when he got hungry he ordered take-away food or pizza paying by his mother’s credit card. But once Bob’s mother became so exhausted of working long hours and taking responsibility for her son that she took her credit card back and stopped paying for the Internet.

«Go away, live on your own or stay here but get a job» said his mother.

What is more, having said that she turned on parents’ control on Bob’s mobile phone in order to make sure he would not play computer games when she was not in.

The Lazy Bob was very upset with that situation. He did not want to work at all. However, he loved his mother, so the next day in the morning he left his place for searching for a job.

Bob got a job. At first, he did not find it hard. It seemed to be simple. He got a job as a cleaner in a shop. He was given a bucket and a mop and he was told to wash the floor. But he had never seen the things and he had never washed the floor yet. In the computer virtual world the things started to act when you just pressed them. The young man looked and looked at the mop and the bucket, felt them, pressed them from different sides, but nothing happened. He was not able to do his job. In the evening he was fired.

He returned home feeling very upset and told his mother about his day. «How silly you are» said his mother.

«You had to pour some water into the bucket, put the mop into it to make it wet well and then to rub the floor with it».

«I see», said Bob.

«Now I know how to work and next time I will try to do my best», said Bob.

The next day Bob looked for a job again. He was lucky he got a job in a restaurant «Five Guys». He had to wash the dishes. That time he knew exactly what «washing» meant.

Bob took a bucket, put the dishes in it, poured some water, But at the moment he was going to put the mop into the bucket to wash the dishes the owner fired him.

«Mother, I had been fired again. Even faster than yesterday, the owner of the restaurant called me the fool. I did what you had told me and how I was taught by you!» said Bob.

Bob could not stop complaining in the evening. «You had to fill the sink with water and put the dishes there, take a sponge, a washing liquid «Fairy» and rub the dishes well» said his mother.

On the third day Bob kept trying looking for a job. But in a small English town there was only one shop and one restaurant «Five Guys». What could he do?

However, he was lucky again. His mother’s friends had to be away the whole day and they could not take their child with them. So he got a job as a baby sitter. At first, it went well. The child did everything on his own, rolled on the ground, bathed in puddles, drew on the wall paper at home, made pictures of plasticine on the sofa. He did all things by himself. He drank juice and even served Bobby. They spilled a little bit but it was not spoilt much in such a mess. The house was messy and untidy. There were dirty spots and puddles everywhere. In the evening, before going to bed the child said to Bob.

«Hey, Bob, listen, my mom usually washes me before I go to bed and today it seems to me I need it more than usual. It is time to have a bath», said the child.

«Ok», said Bob.

He was happy. He could do it well. His mother had already taught him. He put the child into the sink, poured water and started to make foam with the help of «Fairy». At that moment the child’s parents came back home, saw the child sitting in the sink Bob was fired and he did not make a penny for his job on that day.

Feeling upset and sad he came back home. He told his mother about his failure again. The Lazy Bob was so much upset, he suffered so much that his mother decided not to make him go away. On the contrary, she was glad that her son had tried to do something. His mother really loved him, so to make him feel good she turned on the Internet at home. The Lazy Bob sat at his computer desk as he always used to do. However, he did not start to play. He had no desire to play computer games. It was the first time in his life when he wanted to share his experience with someone else and he told about his three working days on You Tube and he told it so simply and vividly that people found it funny «ha-ha» and his videos got a great number of likes and views. People could not stop sharing them and sending them. Suddenly Bob became famous. He suddenly realized that he would be able to make money making videos, funny videos from the life situations. The only thing he needed was regularly to go out of his place to see the life.

The Lazy Bob became a popular blogger. He got plenty of fans and admires. One of his admires even was the English Prince and the Lazy Bob will, probably, be invited to The royal palace someday. And he will become the Sir Blogger. Thus, he started to work and make money that made his mother happy.

To tell the truth he still could not mend the leaking roof in his mother’s house but he hired the people who did that.
